and Saturday Morning Walks
Saturday mornings I like to take a little "me" time and relax. There are several parks in my city, but the one I like the most is the Garden of the Gods. This park has numerous rock formations, all of which are inspiring and beautiful. So on Saturday mornings I will grab some water and head over there and walk the trails.
I usually spend about 40 minutes to an hour wandering the paths. Sometimes I will stop at one of the stone formation benches and watch the other visitors marvel at nature's art towering above us. It's a tradition that energizes me after an exhausting Friday night, and prepares me for the rest of the weekend.
At night, during part of the year, the park will illuminate the rock formations. This is a truly beautiful sight to see, and I always make sure to take visitng friends to see it.
Often I long for the green and blue of the South. There is not much green here, and this region has been in a drought for 11 years. But seeing sights like Garden of the Gods or Seven Falls reminds me of some of the reasons I moved here from Alabama almost two years ago. Those and the view of the Rocky Mountain front range that I have from the front of my home.
So, to show that I'm not totally hogging the scenery, I found some pictures online of what I see every Saturday.
