Bill O’Reilly has been asking Michael Moore to appear on “The O’Reilly Factor” for some time now. Moore as declined to appear until O’Reilly viewed “Fahrenheit 9/11” in its entirety. Apparently everyone’s requirements have been met, because Moore sat down with O’Reilly at the Democratic National Convention to exchange questions. O’Reilly opened with the following query. Now, one of the issues is you because you’ve been calling Bush a liar on weapons of mass destruction, the Senate I...

USA Today hired Ann Coulter to write commentary on the Democratic National Convention. But after her first submission they decided to fire her. Of course she is complaining about this act, and is questioning why they hired her in the first place. I can understand the points of both sides in this case. After reading Ann’s commentary I have to agree that it is rather sophomoric and not funny. I sometimes appreciate Ann’s writing, but here she doesn’t really offer much meat in her hum...

Piece Brosnan is hanging up his Walther PPK and Aston Martin. According to Brosnan, “Bond is another lifetime behind me.” The next Bond flick is scheduled to be released November 18, 2005, but it seems someone other than Pierce will be in the lead. Who will be the new man to personify the Bond legend? Well, here are some of the choices being batted around. Clive Owen Clive is my choice. I haven’t seen King Arthur, so I do not know how he did there, but his short appearance in the...

The World Wide Rant has a, what I found to be, humorous take on Al Gore’s address to the Democratic National Convention. I didn’t come here tonight to talk about the past… I want to to thank you as Democrats for the honor of being your nominee for president four years ago. And I want to thank the American people for the privilege of serving as vice president… I do think it is worth pausing for just a moment as we begin this year's convention, to take note of two very important ...

I grew up with comic books, thanks to my older brothers, but the Four were never one of my favorite titles. I did read them for a couple years during one of the John Byrne eras, and his work instilled a deep respect for the characters despite my ambivalence towards the book in general. So I’m not quite sure what to think about the in-production Fantastic Four movie. There have been some very good comic movies (Superman, Batman, Spiderman, X-Men) and some very not-so-good comic movies (Ba...

I am a vendor. This is a term used by the company that owns the building in which I work. Vendors are people who work for other companies. Some places call these people sub-contractors. Names vary, but the point is that I am a visitor in this building, even though I work every day here. To get to my office I must pass through three secure doors. The door into the building, the door in the lobby that leads to the work locations, and the door that leads into my program's work area. Thi...

Teresa Heinz Kerry shows us what she means by restoring American politics to the high ground. Apparently it means taking no responsibility for one’s statements and offering contempt for people that ask for clarification on those statements. BOSTON July 25, 2004 — Teresa Heinz Kerry urged her home-state delegates to the Democratic National Convention to restore a more civil tone to American politics, then minutes later told a newspaperman to "shove it." "We need to turn back some of th...

Thanks to Steven Den Beste for pointing out this gem of a story: BOSTON (Reuters) - Security officers won't be the only professionals coming to Boston in unprecedented numbers for the Democratic National Convention. Practitioners of the world's oldest profession are seeking reinforcements to help service some of the 35,000 visitors -- plus untold numbers of police reinforcements -- expected in the coming week when Democrats name Sen. John Kerry their presidential candidate. "Eve...

So I just got back from seeing Harold and Kumar Go To White Castle , and let me tell you that movie is freakin' hilarious! I recomend seeing it. In a big room with lots of people. Lots of drunk people if you can manage that. Don't watch this one at home huddled alone on your couch on a Tuesday evening. Get out an experience it with some gregarious strangers. Or any strangers. It will be a bonding experience.I freakin' hate that this town doesn't have a White Castle or Krystal's. Wh...

President Bush recently addressed the 2004 National Urban League Conference in Detroit. In his address he spends a good deal of time outlining the improvements to the economy that his administration has worked towards. He also focuses on some programs designed to aid the black community economically. These sections of this speech are interesting, but what really got my attention were some questions President Bush posed to black Americans. Does the Democrat party take African American...
